A rich History since 1948

The motto of the founders was to never stand still and to strive to provide quality products to its customers at the best price, which has served them well in building a lasting and successful business.

 

 

1948

Grand-Da Kamol and Suchart founded the company Chuk-Phra Kha Mai at just 20 and 18 years of age. They sent a small team of wood cutters to forests of the North East of Thailand to provide bare logs to factories in Bangkok.

 

1952

The first wood factory, Bangkair Sai Mai was built in Bangkok to dry and cut bare wood into ready to sell planks. With just 15 staff and 6 machines, the company became the largest factory in the region.

 

1958

The Bangkair Sai Mai factory expanded with the addition of a wood retail shop in Bangkok while broadening its activity to include wholesale construction material under the name Sombat Kha Mai Homemart.

 

1964

Bangkair Sai Mai factory became the most modern wood factory of its time under the name Siam Timber thanks to modern electric machineries such as stream room, cutting and sanding machines, allowing the company to offer the best quality products on the market.

 

1966

The family business expanded with the addition of a factory in the North East of Thailand, near the Thailand / Laos border, in order to cut bare wood logs coming from Laos and to accelerate logistics between other family factories in the region.

 

1979

Bangkair Sai Mai company open a new wood storage facility to dry wood and to keep readily available the stocks (parquet, stairs,…. ) to distribute to Bangkok.

 

2003

The founder’s son, opens a carpentry factory in Phuket, to supply finished wood products and design built in furniture for the construction companies in the region supplying real estate projects (Hotel, Luxury Pool Villa house, etc.) for oversea and local investors under the name of Siam-Lanchang Wood Industry.

 

2005

To respond to the market demand, the company increased its stocks and opened an additional storage facility near BKK (6km2).

 

2019

To better address the growing international demand, the family business created the Asia Wood Factory sales department, with its headquarters in Phuket and in Bangkok. Its mission is to provide Sout East Asia quality woods to the international market at a factory prices.
